Dispatch and Distribution Manager
£45,000
per annum · Permanent · 37.5 hours
We are seeking an experienced Dispatch and Distribution Manager to lead our dispatch and distribution operations. The successful candidate will oversee the movement of goods from warehouse to customers, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining compliance with UK transport and companies regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and manage daily dispatch and distribution activities.
- Ensure the accurate picking, packing and timely dispatch of customer orders
- Monitor inventory movement and coordinate with warehouse operations.
- Develop and implement distribution strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage fleet utilisation, maintenance schedules and transport documentation.
- Investigate delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs and departmental budgets.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in dispatch, distribution or logistics management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of UK transport regulations and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse/logistics management systems.
- Full UK Drivers License required
